A tribute to a well-loved cat, who ran up numerous vet's bills and eventually exhausted his nine lives.
The backing is handmade paper, including torn-up vet's bills. The central panel is made of wool felt, with an itset, the cat's face, made of felted cat's-combings (an admirable material for the purpose). The eyes are green shisha attached behind slits in the felt, and the whiskers are the genuine article, collected as they fell out naturally.
Muddy paw prints are stencilled with Markal on the paper background and stitched on the felt.
